LASIK Refractive Surgery Consultation and Co-Management
Lasik is a surgical procedure to correct myopia, hyperopia or astigmatism. This is a major decision and we specialize in providing you with objective facts and counseling so you can make the right choice. If you decide to proceed, we work with top refractive surgeons in the Bay Area to ensure that you have the best procedure possible. We provide the pre-op exam and measurements and the post-op care and treatment.
What is LASIK?
LASIK is the most technologically advanced way to reduce your dependency on glasses or contacts. There is a two step process. The surgeon creates a flap using a laser keratome and then uses an excimer laster to reshape the cornea or the surface of your eye. This alters the way light rays enter your eyes to achieve focus, in much of the same way that glasses or contact alter the light rays entering your eyes today.
Can LASIK correct my vision?
LASIK can be used to correct nearsightedness and farsightedness, and can now be used to correct astimgatisim.
What is typical recovery time?
Many patients can return to near-normal activities the day after the procedure. Your eye doctor will advise you of any activities you should avoid during the immediate postoperative period. Patients ususaly return to work in 2 days.
